Lifetime Artistic Achievement Awards

The Ramon John Hnatyshyn Award for
Voluntarism in the Performing Arts

Nominations
are now being accepted for Canada's most prestigious awards for
excellence in the performing arts. These awards will be conferred in
2010.

The Governor General's Performing Arts Awards recognize lifetime artistic achievement in the fields of theatre, dance, classical music, popular music, film, and radio and television broadcasting as well as for voluntarism in the performing arts.

Each
recipient of the Lifetime Artistic Achievement Award receives a $25,000
cash prize contributed by the Canada Council for the Arts and a
commemorative medallion. The recipient of the Ramon John Hnatyshyn
Award for Voluntarism in the Arts receives a specially commissioned
sculpture by a Canadian artist and a commemorative medallion.

deserving Canadian performing artists and volunteers are honoured for

Nous
acceptons présentement les mises en candidature pour les PGGAS, la plus
haute distinction accordée dans le domaine des arts de la scène au
Canada. Les prix seront remis en 2010.

Les PGGAS soulignent l'œuvre de toute une vie d'artistes qui se sont distingués en théâtre, en danse, en musique classique, en musique populaire, en cinéma ou en radiotélédiffision et d'individus qui se sont consacrés au bénévolat dans les arts de la scène.

Les lauréats des PGGAS de la réalisation artistique reçoivent une bourse de
25
000 $ offerte par le Conseil des Arts du Canada et un médaillon
commémoratif. Le Prix Ramon John Hnatyshyn pour le bénévolat dans les
arts de la scène est accompagné d'une œuvre d'art commandée
spécialement pour l'occasion à un artiste canadien et d'un médaillon
commémoratif.

Votre participation au processus de
mise en candidature est essentielle et permet à des artistes et des
bénévoles canadiens qui œuvrent dans le domaine des arts de la scène
d'être honorés pour leurs réalisations exceptionnelles et leur

    with performances scheduled to start at 7 pm and run through to
    9:30pm.  The evening is by donation and all are invited to attend.
